Hello there! I’m Andrea Mecchina, research fellow and PhD student at the University of Trieste. I’m currently working on statistical/neural network econometric models to perform factorial portfolio optimization. I obtained a master degree in Data Science and Scientific Computing in the quantum computing curriculum, and my master thesis consisted in implementing a reinforcement learning algorithm to reconstruct the ground state of complex spin Hamiltonians. I obtained a bachelor degree in Physics with a thesis in statistical mechanics, for which I implemented Monte Carlo simulations to study second order phase transitions in the Ising spin model.
I love music and romantic comedies.
